About the Grant

The Wendy Gruber Artist Grant commemorates the life and work of Wendy Gruber, a Sausalito plein-air painter who received multiple awards for her artistry in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her work hangs in public and private collections throughout the country.

The Wendy Gruber Artist Fund has been administered through the Marin Community Fund (MCF) for the last fifteen years, and is guided by Wendy’s family. Every year, the artist grant is awarded to help support a promising young artist from a local high school who is pursuing a higher education degree in the visual arts.

In Wendy's memory, the fund and it's advisors are committed to supporting talented artists who face financial barriers in achieving their academic goals. Our grant provides a financial boost to offset tuition related expense for college-bound students who show exceptional promise in drawing, painting, sculpture, and illustration. We believe in nurturing creativity and providing opportunities for artists to develop their skills and reach their true potential.
